We are recruiting Senior Civil Engineers to join our UK design team. As a Senior Engineer you will deliver civil design content of water industry projects as part of a multidisciplinary design team. Duties include leading projects/packages of work, supervising junior staff, site visits, report writing, producing drawings and design calculations, and supporting health and safety. The position supports our expanding Water Utilities workload, providing designs for Water, Wastewater, infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects through all stages, from feasibility to construction and commissioning. This is a full‑time permanent role based at our Brighouse office with hybrid working.
Responsibilities
- Produce and check design concepts, calculations, design details, drawing specifications and other technical documents.
- Undertake supervision of junior design team members ensuring timely delivery within budget and specification.
- Assist in professional development of project team members.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets, including planning, monitoring and reporting of resources and finances.
- Prepare and check feasibility studies, appraisal/assessment reports and other written documents.
- Comply with the Integrated Management System, including Health & Safety, Environmental and other regulations.
About you
- Candidates should have a relevant degree, preferably with additional professional qualifications. Candidates with equivalent experience are invited to apply.
- Strong technical background in design of Water/Wastewater infrastructure and non‑infrastructure works; applicants from related disciplines welcomed.
- Computer literate with MS Office suite and basic knowledge of engineering packages such as AutoCAD.
- Strong written and oral communication and organisational skills; produce clear concise reports in English.
- Proven ability to lead and work within a team, dedicated to meeting project deadlines.
