As an Arboriculture Surveyor, you will work closely with the Operations Manager and be an integral part of the team delivering detailed surveys and obtaining consent for our client. You will play a key role in ensuring that each survey is carried out thoroughly and in compliance with all relevant regulations. Throughout all tasks, you will prioritize personal safety and contract compliance, adhering to industry standards and best practices. Your attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively, and commitment to safety will contribute to the successful delivery of projects for SPEN.
This is a full-time permanent role operating out of our offices in Oswestry or Chorley, primarily working from home on a hybrid basis whilst supporting on site activities across the SPEN Network. There will be additional travel required to our clients’ operational sites and offices across the Northwest area.
Schedule and attend meetings with customers to assess their tree management requests and provide professional guidance on recommended actions. Respond to all enquiries offering advice and solutions related to arboriculture. Address and resolve any complaints that may arise from surveys, cutting work, or tree maintenance activities, ensuring customer satisfaction. Perform regular surveying maintenance and revisit work to ensure that all tree-related work is in line with safety regulations and customer needs. Conduct surveys in various environments and across multiple voltage levels, ensuring compliance with safety standards in utility sectors. Accurately document survey findings, tree conditions, and recommended actions using company systems and software. Ensure all work adheres to relevant safety regulations, best practices, and industry standards.
This role is perfect for someone with a Unit 5 qualification in Arboriculture Surveying and experience working in the Utilities Industry. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and comfortable working independently, with the ability to solve problems as they arise. Strong IT skills are essential, particularly proficiency in MS Word and Excel, to maintain accurate records and reports. You should also possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the public and other stakeholders. Mobilisation activities are now in progress after Avove have been awarded a groundbreaking new long term Contract by Scottish Power Energy Networks. We are delighted to announce that framework contracts for all Vegetation Management activities across the five SPEN network areas of Dee Valley & Oswestry, Mid Wales, Wirral, Mersey, Cheshire and the Edinburgh & Borders area in Scotland have all been awarded to Avove. The contract has now doubled in size to be c.£10m pa and is for a full six-year period, enabling a significant recruitment programme to be implemented with effective long-term planning and investment in both staff and equipment.
