At Avove, we’re proud to partner with United Utilities to deliver essential water and wastewater infrastructure across the Northwest. This role will be part of our Commissioning team, supporting non-infrastructure projects across Avove. You’ll play a key role in turning design intent into operational reality — ensuring assets perform safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory and water quality requirements.
What will your day look like...
- Developing and implementing commissioning plans, test scripts, sequences and acceptance criteria.
- Supporting onsite commissioning activities including testing, optimisation, fault finding and performance trials.
- Applying safe systems of work and commissioning standards in line with Avove’s business wide framework.
- Managing sampling, analysis, data interpretation and evidence collation to demonstrate compliance.
- Contributing to commissioning documentation including RAMS, ITPs, handover packs and regulatory submissions.
- Participating in design reviews, HAZOPs, commissioning readiness reviews, FATs and site acceptance activities.
- Working collaboratively with project managers, designers, operations teams and supply chain partners.
About you...
- Degree (or working towards) in Process, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Water Hygiene certification and relevant site safety qualifications are desirable.
- Strong grounding or experience in process commissioning within the water, wastewater or wider utilities sector.
- Good understanding of treatment processes, instrumentation, control systems and water quality requirements.
- Awareness of the full project lifecycle and the role commissioning plays in successful project outcomes.
- Well organised, safety focused and able to manage multiple commissioning activities effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate technical documentation.
