About the role…
Step into a pivotal role where your expertise in electrical planning and switching will truly make an impact. As an Authorised Person within our Distribution Network Operator contract, you’ll work across both overhead line and underground cable environments, taking on the responsibility of managing critical projects and ensuring the seamless operation of electrical networks. What will your day look like…
- Efficiently manage projects and coordinate outage management, switching, and earthing on LV and HV networks.
- Respond promptly to customer complaints and client issues, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
- Liaise with clients regarding outages, network damage, and safety incidents, and attend relevant training sessions as needed.
- Promote equality, diversity, and human rights, fostering positive working relationships and fair treatment of colleagues.
- Comply with health and safety legislation, maintaining professional standards and meeting organisational expectations.
- Utilise technology effectively, undertake additional duties as required, and contribute to the smooth running of the Avove group.
About you…
- LE1 Linesman qualification and HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- Full UK driving licence
- Proven hands-on experience as an Authorised Person (AP) in a utility or LV power contractor, or client-side DNO/IDNO
- Thorough understanding of DNO control and switching systems
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in overhead and underground planning and switching operations
