About the role
Avove have been appointed as the delivery partner for NI Water's PC-21 Supply Framework, with two years remaining on the current Framework, and tendering for the next five-year Framework underway. This framework involves a range of provisions, from new build capital works and planned maintenance across wastewater and clean water facilities. As a Site Supervisor you will be responsible for site operations, directing and organising site activities to ensure that planned work is delivered safely and on time. The role will be based in Northern Ireland. The role requires a full valid Driving License.
What will your day look like
- Ensuring projects are delivered within programme, safely, and to a high standard of quality and workmanship.
- Ensuring a suitably competent workforce (including subcontractors) is in place to complete all site activities.
- Undertaking site inspections to ensure Health and Safety compliance with relevant legislation.
- Compiling and recording of relevant site documentation such as inductions, permits to work, RAMS, safety briefings.
- Delivery of briefings for RAMS, Site Inductions, Toolbox Talks, Daily Briefings.
- Ensuring sub-contractor compliance with management of health and safety on site, including all daily inspections and pre-use checks.
- Performing quality checks in-line with contract specification and contract statement of requirements, maintaining accurate records of site resources, materials and plant.
- Recording of site diary/allocations, records of subcontractor activities, and subcontract performance reports.
- Demonstrating excellent stakeholder management; liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors in relation to all site activities.
About you
You are an effective communicator who can confidently liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You use your initiative to make sound decisions and are skilled in problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. You may also have experience coaching and leading teams. You have a strong understanding of programme delivery processes, a working knowledge of NEC contracts, and good knowledge of construction techniques. You are familiar with relevant construction legislation, including HSEQ, and have experience managing medium to heavy civils projects with complex temporary works. You have good IT skills and are comfortable managing budgets while maintaining a focus on quality and cost control. Your commercial awareness and understanding of basic business finance support successful project delivery.
You will also hold the following qualifications:
- HNC or above qualified (preferably in an engineering discipline)
- SMSTS or SSSTS or equivalent
- NVQ Lift supervisor (desirable but not essential)
- CSCS or SHEA
- First Aid
- CDM awareness
- Confined Space (Medium Risk)
