About the School
We are a single‑form entry primary school and nursery with approximately 230 pupils on roll, situated in Avonmouth on the outskirts of Bristol. We are proud of our strong community ethos and our commitment to ensuring every child can flourish, regardless of their starting point. Our school serves a diverse community, including a high proportion of pupils with SEND and those eligible for pupil premium funding. We see this as a strength and are committed to providing an inclusive education that enables all children to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will be supported by an engaged governing body, a strong diocesan partnership, and access to local authority school improvement support.
Responsibilities and Expectations
We are seeking a Headteacher who can lead a Church of England school with integrity, compassion and ambition, ensuring our Christian values are lived out through inclusive leadership that celebrates diversity and secures equity of opportunity and high expectations for all pupils and staff. Following our successful Ofsted inspection, where we were judged to be a Good school, we were also delighted to receive a wonderful SIAMS inspection outcome, which recognised that: “Avonmouth Church of England Primary School and Nursery is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish… Hope and aspiration are the hallmarks of this vibrant and loving community.” This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who is passionate about inclusion, educational excellence, and community engagement to build on our strengths and help shape the next chapter of our school's journey. You will demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills and experience of working effectively with others in order to raise standards.
