An exciting opportunity to join our Community Safety Team has become available.

As our Community Partnership Advisor you willdevelop home safety visit referral mechanisms through partnerships with agencies and groups who have contact with vulnerable people in the community.

You will also support these partnership arrangements through relationship management and the provision of guidance and training.

The base location of this vacancy is to be confirmed at appointment.

The working pattern can be discussed at interview however the post holder will need to be able to work during core business hours.

  • Some of the things you will be doing
  • Identify vulnerable target groups who would be at considerable risk should an unwanted fire start in their home.
  • Identify agencies, organisations and groups (statutory and voluntary) who will have contact with these vulnerable target groups.
  • Provide partners with relevant training and resources to enable them to make referrals to AF&RS for home safety visits.
  • Carry out quality assurance of referrals to ensure the correct level of home safety visit is provided.
  • Work with the Vulnerable Adults, Children & Young Persons, and Technical Fire Safety teams to ensure the effective use of our resources and the best outcomes for vulnerable people.
  • Work with the Inclusion team to identify groups who can put us in contact with vulnerable people within our diverse communities.
  • Act as point of contact for all AF&RS staff in relation to community partnership working, and engage with station based staff as necessary to clarify our partnership aims and support them in their own community engagement.
  • Attend such meetings, conferences, seminars or courses as required.
  • Carry out any additional responsibilities as reasonable and appropriate, as agreed with line manager.
  • 25 days annual holiday (plus public holidays) rising to 29 days after 5 years, and 30 days after 10 years of service

With effect from July 2023 legislation was amended to enable all Fire & Rescue Services to undertake standard DBS checks for all employees.

All job roles require a standard DBS check, with certain defined roles requiring an enhanced check.

These will be renewed throughout employment.
