Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, Morrisons and Waitrose in the UK. The purpose of this role is to support the management team towards achieving maximum production efficiency and product quality; to ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene procedures; to control legal compliance and process systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and ensure that you and your team are adhering to company policies and procedures in relation to Product Quality, Food Safety and Integrity.
- Allocate and supervise staff to different lines to achieve overall production efficiency and to ensure that production targets are met per order.
- Understand AX, Auto coding, and Sparc systems and utilise these in the department.
- Control packaging, labels, etc., and sign off required documents.
- Observe department stock rotation and control.
- Deal with quality/process issues.
- Ensure that production records are accurately completed.
- Sign off department specifics training.
- Investigate staff personnel issues at ground level such as timekeeping and work performance and report any issues to the department management team.
- Ensure that appropriate Health and Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene procedures are implemented at all times.
- Contribute to the development of a culture of Integrity, collaboration, and a do the right thing approach in all interactions.
- Ensure Food Safety compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to remain audit-ready at all times.
- Undertake other appropriate duties as deemed necessary within the scope of the role.
