Avonbourne Boys' and Girls' Academies are two 11‑16 secondary schools based in East Bournemouth where students share a campus and are taught in predominantly single‑sex classes. When students reach our onsite United Sixth Form, mixed classes are reinstated, providing a seamless progression. The academies enjoy strong links with Avonwood Primary School and work closely within the United Learning Bournemouth and Poole cluster to share best practice and resources. Disruption‑free teaching is a core promise, supported by a coaching culture that encourages teachers to develop as reflective practitioners. In‑house CPD is extensive and complemented by external opportunities through United Learning and nationally recognised qualifications. Pastoral care is highly regarded, delivered by a team that is both morally driven and effective.
