As a Mechanical Technician, you will join a multi-disciplined diagnostic team, responding to breakdowns and completing maintenance tasks for 12 hours. You will support the department\’s shift management team, ensuring safety, quality, and production plans are met. The team may assist across-site to support business objectives. You will work in all departments and gain knowledge using local team experience.

The Role of the Mechanical Technician Remelted Steels
- The role involves reporting to the Team Leader Engineering on maintenance and operation of plant and equipment, carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance activities, self-organising and prioritising work requirements, and developing maintenance practices. The individual is responsible for picking up work, booking spares, and keeping records of work through CMMS. They must adhere to agreed procedures and systems, report any changes, and have involvement in creating RA, SWP, and JTD\’s.
- The role also involves completing point of work risk assessments, providing continuity of cover on-site in case of sickness and holiday, maintaining equipment to the required standard, reducing waste, and providing general assistance. The team may also assist across-site to support business objectives, working in all departments and gaining working knowledge using the local team\’s experience.
