Hospitality and Operations Officer

We're looking for a Hospitality and Operations Officer to join our team at Grow Wilder, Avon Wildlife Trust's inspiring urban nature reserve in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our courses, events, venue hire activities, community programmes and visitor experiences while helping us generate income that supports nature's recovery., As Hospitality and Operations Officer, you will be at the heart of Grow Wilder's day-to-day operations. You'll provide excellent customer service from first enquiry through to booking completion, ensuring every visitor, hirer, tutor and participant receives a professional and welcoming experience. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing enquiries, bookings and schedules for venue hire, courses, events and programmes.
• Coordinating practical arrangements, including room set-up, resources, signage and customer support.
• Supporting tutors, freelancers and external providers delivering events and courses.
• Assisting with the planning and delivery of seasonal events and activities.
• Working with our Communications Team to promote events, courses and commercial activities.
• Maintaining accurate financial and booking records, including sales reconciliation and invoicing support.
• Helping ensure the smooth operational running of Grow Wilder., This role is primarily based at Grow Wilder, Bristol, with occasional travel to other Avon Wildlife Trust sites. The post operates on a flexible rota, working 5 days out of 7, and includes some evening and weekend working for events and activities (TOIL provided).

You’ll have:

• Experience of administration, scheduling, bookings or event coordination.
• Experience working in hospitality, visitor services or customer-facing environments.
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with enquiries by phone, email and in person.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and working with financial systems.
• Good Excel skills and confidence using digital systems.
• A proactive, flexible and positive approach, with a talent for problem solving and finding practical solutions.
