Are you energetic, upbeat and have a positive attitude, patient and a desire to help others? If so, then we would love you to join our committed team of Support Workers! At Avon Support we are currently recruiting Support Workers to join our growing team at our Day Hub in Warwick. As a support worker you will have fun each day engaging with the people we support; every day at our hub is fun packed, in the Day Hub and also in the community.

A little bit about us: At our Day Hub, no two days are the same. We have fun with the people we support, take part in cooking sessions, have discos and parties, and we also have our own coffee bar where individuals can make drinks or learn barista skills! We take part in activities such as video games, interactive screens, I.T station, arts and crafts and much more! We also have a sensory room and a chill out zone with a movie area for time out. We organise various trips out of the Hub with fun activities throughout the day, playing sports and visiting local attractions, concerts, bowling nights, cinemas, social events, meals out and plenty more! All our trips and activities are discussed and decided by the individuals who use our service.

A full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and group support to individuals with learning disabilities and/or challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Have an understanding of Autism, ADHD and supporting individuals with additional needs.
  • Assist with daily activities, personal care and social interaction.
  • Facilitate engaging activities and encourage participation.
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for all clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients’ families and healthcare providers.
  • Help the people we support further develop their life skills; you will have excellent communication and people skills.
