Senior Care Assistant – Full Time – Luxury Retirement Home – AV2019 Location: Market Harborough, Leicestershire Salary: £34,944 Per Annum Hours: Full Time – Nights Shift Pattern: 8:00pm – 8:00am About the Home We are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Senior Care Assistant on behalf of a unique and well-established residential care service set within beautiful private grounds in the Leicestershire countryside, conveniently located between Market Harborough and Uppingham. This distinctive home provides care and support for up to 40 residents aged from 35 upwards, including older people, who may require support with a range of complex needs including mental health conditions, dementia, previous alcohol or substance misuse, and behavioural needs. Set within a magnificent historic property surrounded by landscaped gardens and panoramic views across the Welland Valley, the service offers something very different from a traditional residential care environment. The home focuses on creating a genuine community rather than placing residents into conventional categories based on age or diagnosis. Residents are encouraged to live alongside one another, build relationships, maintain their independence and support each other wherever possible. The beautiful surroundings, relaxed atmosphere and community-focused approach provide a calm and welcoming environment where residents can feel at home and continue to enjoy a meaningful quality of life. The Role As a Senior Care Assistant working nights, you will play an important role in ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred support throughout the night. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will provide hands-on care while also taking responsibility for supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards across the service. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and supporting the care team during night shifts Providing compassionate, person-centred care to residents with complex needs Supporting residents with personal care and daily living activities Monitoring residents' wellbeing throughout the night Administering medication where trained and authorised Responding appropriately to changing needs or behaviours Maintaining accurate care records and documentation Supporting individual care plans and risk assessments Promoting dignity, independence and choice Ensuring a safe, calm and supportive environment overnight Supporting junior members of staff and leading by example Communicating effectively with the wider care team regarding residents' needs About You The successful candidate will be an experienced and compassionate care professional who is confident working with individuals who may have complex mental health, dementia or behavioural needs. You will ideally have: Previous experience working as a Senior Care Assistant or similar position Experience within a residential care, nursing, mental health or specialist care environment Strong knowledge of person-centred care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging situations Good leadership and team-working skills A caring, patient and respectful approach Medication experience is desirable An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable Most importantly, you will have a genuine passion for supporting people to live with dignity, independence and choice.
