We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to join a friendly residential care home in Dawlish. You will play an important role in ensuring residents’ clothing and linen are cleaned, well-maintained, and returned to a high standard. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive, family-run service within a calm and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Washing, drying, ironing, and folding residents’ clothing and linen
- Ensuring all laundry is handled with care and returned correctly
- Operating laundry equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the laundry area
- Sorting and organising laundry items appropriately
- Supporting infection control procedures and care home standards
- Reporting any damaged or missing items
About You
- Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or care home environment desirable (not essential)
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- Good attention to detail
- Understanding of hygiene and infection control standards (or willingness to learn)
- Friendly and respectful approach when working around residents’ belongings
