Location: Broadstone, Dorset Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour Hours: Full Time – Days or Nights About the Home Avon Search is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming, family-run residential care home in Broadstone, Dorset, for a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant. Set within a beautiful Victorian house surrounded by mature grounds in a peaceful residential area, this charming care home provides a warm, friendly environment for 17 residents, with accommodation across 17 single rooms. The home has a longstanding reputation for providing quality care to older people, with a strong emphasis on compassion, dignity, respect and individual wellbeing. The Role As a Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting residents with their daily routines, promoting their independence and ensuring they receive the highest standards of person-centred care. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment where residents feel respected and valued. Your responsibilities will include: Providing personal care and support with daily living activities. Assisting residents with washing, dressing, bathing and grooming. Supporting residents with mobility and transferring safely. Assisting with mealtimes and encouraging good nutrition and hydration. Building positive, trusting relationships with residents and their families. Promoting residents' dignity, privacy, independence and individual choices. Supporting residents' emotional and social wellbeing. Following individual care plans and reporting any changes in residents' needs. Maintaining accurate care records and following health and safety procedures. Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment. Working Pattern This is a full-time position, with opportunities to work either days or nights. The successful candidate will join a friendly team dedicated to providing consistent, compassionate care to the residents. About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Previous experience working as a Care Assistant within a residential care home or similar setting. A caring, patient and compassionate nature. A genuine passion for supporting older people. Good communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a team. A respectful approach to residents' privacy, dignity and independence. A reliable, flexible and positive attitude. A willingness to undertake training and develop your care skills. Previous care experience is beneficial, but a positive attitude, empathy and a genuine desire to make a difference are equally important. Benefits £13.00 per hour. Full-time hours available.
