About the Service
We are recruiting an experienced Senior Care Assistant on behalf of a small, specialist residential service in Worthing that supports 28 residents living with a range of dementia and cognitive conditions, including Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and Schizophrenia. The service delivers high-quality, person-centred dementia care within a small, homely setting, enabling staff to build strong, meaningful relationships with residents. Care is provided using Dementia Care Mapping, a nationally recognised approach endorsed by the National Institute for Health & Clinical Excellence (NICE), alongside modern, evidence-based therapies. Residents are supported in a warm, inclusive environment that promotes dignity, independence, and quality of life.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Care Assistant to join a close-knit team in a 28-bed service. You will take a leadership role on shift, supporting colleagues while ensuring residents receive outstanding specialist dementia care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and mentor care staff on shift
- Deliver high-quality, specialist dementia care tailored to individual needs
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond appropriately to changes
- Administer medication (training provided if required)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care documentation
- Promote a calm, safe, and supportive environment
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant in a care setting
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
- Medication training (advantageous but not essential)
- Compassionate, professional, and team-focused approach
- A genuine passion for supporting people living with dementia
