Kingswood Health Centre are looking to recruit a new 4 session Salaried GP.
Working pattern to be negotiated although 2 sessions to be worked on a Friday are a must.
GPs work to 15 minute appointments, and we operate an online total triage system (staffed by our Triage Team Coordinator and the Duty GP). We also use cloud-based telephony and were featured in the NHSs Covid Recovery Plan for our use of the multidisciplinary ARRS roles that we employ.
We also support a number of nursing and residential homes in our boundary. We are an established training practice and also enjoy teaching medical students of various levels. We support our salaried GPs development and encourage them to participate in teaching as well as other initiatives.

Responsible For
Clinical Responsibilities:
- In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting (up to 2 patients, i.e. 1 per session) at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated & undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting patients to hospital in emergency situations
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care including participation in the on-call rota (during normal working hours) and, when required, to participate in the Saturday morning surgery rota (pro-rata based on number of sessions worked) as required by the Extended Access enhanced service with hours from 8.30 to 11am. The candidate may also be able to partake in the additional evening Improved Access clinics on a rota basis when scheduled.
- Out of Hours cover is provided by Brisdoc from 6.30pm to 8.00am on weekdays, and on weekends.
