This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week based at Hanham Health Surgery. We offer 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, and are paying £15 per hour for the role of Lead Receptionist.
The Lead Receptionist role will lead and supervise the reception services from a strategic and operational perspective. The ideal candidate would possess previous experience in supervising a team, has extensive knowledge of reception and signposting and has worked in a busy practice.
Main duties of the job:
- The position is suitable for someone who can work on their own initiative, problem solve effectively, be self-sufficient and manage their own workload effectively with minimal supervision.
- Support, train and guide other receptionists during their working day.
- Ensure that all the reception team members are functioning at consistently high levels and to proactively promote the team to use their own initiative to problem solve in the absence of the lead.
- Oversee that all reception duties are carried out efficiently and all enquiries are handled courteously and in a timely manner by all reception colleagues, acting as a resource as appropriate.
- Suggest ideas or changes that will continually enhance the performance of the reception team.
- Ensure that the reception area is always staffed to provide continual cover and access.
- Highlight to the Practice Manager where there are gaps in staffing of the reception team as quickly as possible to always ensure adequate staffing.
- Ensure that all requests are monitored to avoid duplication of work, so that only urgent online requests are forwarded to the triage team.
- Define, delegate and monitor all reception teamwork in response to changing practice needs.
- Undertake other ad-hoc work as and when required under the guidance of the Practice Manager.
