Are you passionate about horses and eager to make a difference in their lives?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed volunteer with a good knowledge and experience of horses.

This role will support the officers working in our mounted section particularly during the morning routines, in order to free up these officers to focus on training and exercise of Police horses.

This is a physically challenging but extremely rewarding role.

Main responsibilities

  • Mucking out the stables.
  • Haying up.
  • Carrying and moving bags of shavings and extra-large haynets around the stable yard.
  • Keeping the stable yard and tack room clean and tidy.
  • Clearing and tidying the paddocks (poo picking).
  • Leading horses to and from the horse walker.

Additional Information

PLEASE NOTE – Successful applicants will be subject to a trial period which will cover several sessions.
