We have three exciting opportunities to join us as a Case Officer within our Criminal Justice department. If you are looking for a career that will provide support to investigators helping them bring offenders to justice, then we would like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer cases to ensure quality and compliance using specialist knowledge of legislation and national guidelines, including timescales and court processes.
- Work autonomously to research, update and ensure accuracy of data and information in a range of computer systems.
- Collaborate with the Officer in Case to maintain responsibility and ownership for the quality assurance and compliance of case files.
- Act as the single point of contact for regular liaison between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the accurate completion and submission of case files, undertaking necessary enquiries, responding to queries, and meeting key deadlines and timescales.
- Manage and handle multi‑media material and evidence, ensuring continuity and preparing and redacting for disclosure in accordance with relevant guidance and legislative requirements.
- Redact all digital and paper materials and evidence in accordance with relevant guidance and legislative requirements.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert on case file preparation and prosecutions, providing advice, guidance and quality assurance to new members of the Criminal Justice team, operational officers and supervisors.
- Provide a response on behalf of the constabulary to CC bail applications and bail variations in a timely manner.
- Maintain the quality assurance and compliance of case files, taking ownership of the administration throughout the criminal justice process, including submission of files to the Crown Prosecution Service.

These positions are shift roles working a range of patterns across a 24/7 operation including nights. All relevant shift allowances and enhancements will be paid as appropriate. The successful candidates for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises at one of the following locations across the force area: Bridgwater Police Centre, TA6 4RR; Patchway Police Centre, BS34 6PY; Keynsham Police Centre, BS31 1SX; Portishead Police Headquarters, Valley Road, BS20 8QJ; Bridewell Police Station, Bristol, BS1 2AA.
