Position Overview

The South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) is looking for a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to progress their career within the Business Team, supporting the wider unit.

Working Hours

Full-time or part-time (minimum 30 hours per week).

Location

SWROCU Northern Hub, Bristol (BS34 6PY) or SWROCU Southern Hub, Exeter (EX2 7HQ).

Responsibilities

  • Support key organisational processes including inspections, risk management, strategic planning, business cases and continuous improvement activity.
  • Contribute to ensuring the force operates efficiently, ethically and in line with best practice.
  • Directly improve organisational effectiveness, resource use, productivity and service quality by supporting external scrutiny, strengthening risk management, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Plan effectively, respond proactively to challenges and help achieve the force’s strategic objectives.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Experience of continuous improvement activity, including planning, risk management, problem solving, performance monitoring and analysis, projects and programme management, and change management.
  • Computer literacy skills, particularly experience of management information/diagnostic tools and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to self‑manage, self‑motivate and consistently deliver to deadlines.
  • Experience of collaborating with senior stakeholders and practitioners both internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective at all organisational levels.
  • Advantageous if holding a current driving licence or able to travel around the region using alternative transport.
  • Desirable experience working within a criminal justice or wider public sector environment.

Additional Information

Vetting and safeguarding: the role requires a higher security clearance at MV and SC (Management Vetting and Security Clearance Level). Eligible candidates must have a five‑year "checkable history" in the UK (resident for the last five years). Compliance with the National Vetting Policy and safeguarding procedures is required. Individuals on the Police Barred and Advisory lists will not be considered for employment for a minimum of five years (gross misconduct) or three years (poor performance).
