Business Support Assistant - South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU)

The South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Business Support Assistant to join our Business Team on a full time basis.

Location -Exeter - SW ROCU Southern Hub, within the vicinity of junction 29 of M5 - EX2 7HQ

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing essential administrative and business support to a range of specialist teams across the Regional Organised Crime Unit. As a Business Support Assistant, you will contribute to the effective delivery of vital services that support our operational capabilities in tackling serious and organised crime across the South West region.

Working as part of a supportive and professional team, you will be required to manage a varied workload, demonstrate excellent organisational skills, and build effective working relationships with colleagues across the organisation. The role offers the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills, work both collaboratively and independently, and gain valuable experience within a unique and rewarding area of policing.

We are looking for individuals who are proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering a high standard of customer service and administrative support.

SWROCU is a collaboration of police officers and police staff from the five South West regional forces. We’re part of a national network of nine ROCUs covering England and Wales.

We have more than 20 capabilities that staff and officers work in to Pursue offenders, Protect and Prepare individuals and organisations, and Prevent people from engaging in serious and organised crime.

Our capabilities are here to advise, to assist, or to fully adopt investigations.

We work with local forces and national partners to target and disrupt criminals posing the greatest risk of Serious and Organised Criminality (SOC). This includes offenders involved in cyber threats, economic crime, drug conspiracies, modern slavery and human trafficking, and child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Fixed role – the successful candidate will be expected to attend the office however there will be manager discretion on working from home in line with business needs.

Skills, experience and qualifications required

Essential:

• Must be computer literate with experience of using Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook.

• Previous customer service administrative experience.

• Experience of collating information.

• Ability to research matters and write appropriate reports and emails.

• Effective communicator (face to face, over Teams and in writing)

• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Hold a driving licence.
