You will act as deputy to the DI Serious and Organised Crime Community Coordinator (SOC CC). You will work with policing teams across the Southwest to develop and deliver multi‑agency responses to serious and organised crime (SOC) affecting our communities. This includes engaging with specialist capabilities, neighbourhood policing teams and crime prevention teams to shape strategy, enhance intelligence development and coordinate activity that disrupts those causing harm.

A key part of the role is building trust with partners and communities, and helping to reduce the influence and reach of individuals and groups involved in SOC. You will contribute to national workstreams and translate them into regional and local delivery, providing strategic advice and support to senior leaders across the Southwest. You will also assist with tactical and operational activity, and lead projects designed to strengthen the whole‑system response to SOC. This will involve coordinating work across law enforcement, partner agencies, community leaders and voluntary sector organisations.

You will be responsible for coordinating activity linked to the NPCC SOC Strategy, driving innovation and improvement across the 4P approach (Pursue, Protect, Prevent, Prepare). This includes responsibilities relating to OCG management, place‑based approaches to tackling SOC, performance oversight and operational risk management planning. You will work closely with local, regional and national policing, as well as partner organisations, to enhance the overall law‑enforcement response to SOC.

This includes driving Pursue activity by supporting tactical delivery and working collaboratively with other ROCU Coordinators to ensure risks, opportunities and intelligence links are identified and shared with the appropriate forces and partners. You will attend force meetings, coordinate activity, share best practice and strengthen multi‑agency collaboration across all 4P pillars. A significant aspect of the role will also involve oversight and coordination of the use of ancillary orders to support risk management, disruption and safeguarding.

What we can offer you:

  • Flexible working – with many of our roles we can be flexible regarding working hours.
  • Continuous professional development – we encourage and support career growth, giving you the opportunity of a flourishing career.

  • Ability to translate Strategic direction into tactical delivery
  • Experience in decision making
  • Broad knowledge of the principles, procedures and protocols for sharing intelligence
  • Managed law enforcement projects, innovated to ensure maximisation of enforcement and disruption opportunities
  • Experience of working within problem solving environments and serious and organised crime.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally
