Do you follow the Christian faith and have time to support the staff and officers of Avon and Somerset Police in prayer both remotely and in person?
It doesn’t matter if you know nothing about police or policing matters, your faith and support is key in this role.
We would love you to be able to attend our weekly Friday midday prayers, these take place remotely via Microsoft Teams (and can be accessed via a home computer).
Your guidance, listening ear and shared compassion is forefront of this unique volunteering role, we want all of our colleagues to bring their whole self to work and we recognise all faiths, backgrounds and beliefs.
Just by giving a couple of hours of your week to us can and will make a real difference and in return you will get a real sense of achievement and belonging, you will work alongside people doing many different roles, in return you will learn and develop your understanding of the challenges and successes an organisation like us has.
We would require you to attend a police station to assist with our admin tasks; most of which can be done from your local police station after training and some in-person meetings which includes our annual general meeting at police headquarters (HQ). Other planning meetings currently take place at either Weston Police Centre, Weston Gateway, Filers Way, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset BS24 7JP or police station in the Bristol area.
As a Police Support Volunteer, Avon and Somerset Police will reimburse you for out-of-pocket expenses that you incur while volunteering for us.
If you are not sure if this is the volunteering role for you, or would just like to find out more, please feel to drop me a line or give me a call Christian Police Association lead Gavin Jennings by emailing CHRISTIANPOLICEASSOCIATION@avonandsomerset.police.uk or by phone on 07889659962.
