Avon & Somerset Police is seeking a motivated and meticulous ISO Compliance Officer to support our Forensic Services and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) teams. The role involves helping the organisation maintain compliance with ISO 17020 in accordance with quality management, ensuring our forensic and investigative functions operate with accuracy, consistency, and excellent quality. This includes supporting quality audits, managing documentation, overseeing consumable and equipment control, and helping maintain high standards across forensic processes. This position is essential for ensuring the force’s CSI and Forensic Operations teams continue to meet national accreditation requirements and deliver reliable, trusted forensic outcomes for the Criminal Justice System. This vacancy is for a permanent full-time role and reports to the ISO technical lead.
Main responsibilities:
- Provide a professional and confidential administrative service to identified customers (individual, team, or unit).
- Use approved quality management systems including environmental monitoring, consumable provision and quality checking, equipment, resource monitoring and the associated documentation.
- Support operational officers making best use of administrative and organisational skills to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure ISO Compliance Management for CSI and Local Area, including calibration of technical equipment, asset management, stock control & batch testing, environmental monitoring, auditing and quality assurance.
- Support Team Leaders and Regional Forensic Coordinators in the form of diary management and other administrative activities.
- Administer a range of meetings and/or events as required on a regular basis.
