Overview
You will act as deputy to the Deputy Inspector Serious and Organised Crime Community Coordinator (SOC CC). Working with policing teams across the Southwest, you will develop and deliver multi‑agency responses to serious and organised crime, engage with specialist capabilities, neighbourhood policing teams and crime prevention teams to shape strategy, enhance intelligence development and coordinate activities that disrupt individuals and groups causing harm.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate activity linked to the NPCC SOC Strategy, driving innovation and improvement across the 4P approach (Pursue, Protect, Prevent, Prepare).
- Lead projects designed to strengthen the whole‑system response to SOC, coordinating work across law enforcement, partner agencies, community leaders and voluntary sector organisations.
- Assist with tactical and operational activity, supporting pursuit operations and overseeing ancillary orders for risk management and disruption.
- Provide strategic advice and support to senior leaders across the Southwest and translate national workstreams into regional and local delivery.
- Attend force meetings, share best practice and strengthen multi‑agency collaboration across all 4P pillars.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience writing senior management level reports and presenting to management teams.
- Ability to translate strategic direction into tactical delivery.
- Broad knowledge of principles, procedures and protocols for sharing intelligence.
- Experience managing law enforcement projects and innovating to maximise enforcement and disruption opportunities.
- Experience working within problem‑solving environments and serious and organised crime.
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, to a range of audiences including senior officers.
- Ability to negotiate and influence others, overcoming barriers and initiating change.
- IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Current full driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
