The South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) is looking for Investigations Officer (Designated) keen to progress their career within the Regional Economic and Cyber Crime Unit (RECCU) Team. Investigators on the Economic Crime Investigation Team (ECIT) within the RECCU can deal with a diverse range of organised financial crime investigations including unique methodologies used by organised crime groups involved in Fraud and Money Laundering.
Criminal cases are regularly adopted by the team in accordance with the control strategy and, amongst other activities, regularly involves tackling professional enablers that provide crime groups with the infrastructure to conceal the proceeds of crime. The team works closely with a number of capabilities across the SWROCU as well as with partner agencies. Work will take investigators across borders within the region and sometimes nationally. ECIT Investigators are encouraged to develop their expertise around key legislation such as the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and share their knowledge.
SWROCU is a collaboration of police officers and police staff from the five South West regional forces. We’re part of a national network of nine ROCUs covering England and Wales. We have more than 20 capabilities that staff and officers work in to Pursue offenders, Protect and Prepare individuals and organisations, and Prevent people from engaging in serious and organised crime. Our capabilities are here to advise, to assist, or to fully adopt investigations. We work with local forces and national partners to target and disrupt criminals posing the greatest risk of Serious and Organised Criminality (SOC). This includes offenders involved in cyber threats, economic crime, drug conspiracies, modern slavery and human trafficking, and child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:
- Qualifications: PIP Level 2 accredited
- Hold a full current driving licence and be prepared to become a force authorised driver.
- Demonstrably strong computer literacy
- Proven experience of researching, gathering and analysing information, with the ability to apply a methodical and confident approach to their analysis
- Experience of preparing detailed reports/statements and written documentation with a particular attention to detail
- Proven experience of undertaking and supporting investigations, including identifying lines of enquiry, interviewing witnesses and managing exhibits
- Experience of liaising with a range of departments, organisations and/or agencies to progress work activities.
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of the legislation and national guidelines appropriate to surveillance and investigations i.e. RIPA, PACE, CPIA

Flexible and Part Time Working:
All requests for flexible working patterns and part-time working will be considered and be dependent on the role, this includes job shares and part-time hours. There is an expectation that employees will attend their designated hub for at least 40% of their contracted working time. For employees working reduced or part-time hours, this requirement will be applied on a pro rata basis.
Travel to Work Protocol:
