This role is based in London, reporting to our Software Consulting Lead.

As a Software Consultant, you will be immersed in our clients' unique environments, taking responsibility across the entire spectrum of our business lifecycle — from onboarding through ongoing advisory delivery.

This opportunity is suited to a consultant with 3–5 years' experience who is ready to take on client engagements with greater autonomy and contribute to strategic initiatives such as our AI Governance use-case delivery.

  • Pinpoint and analyse customer business requirements, implementing product-oriented solutions during customer onboarding and ongoing engagements.

  • Deliver engaging training and advisory sessions, acting as the pivotal liaison between customers and internal technical specialists.

  • Build and maintain custom dashboards, visualisations, and reports to client specification.

  • Communicate customer requirements effectively to our Product Management teams.

  • Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives.

  • Foster and manage customer relationships, expertly managing their expectations, including Success Package hours and renewal health.

  • Ability to develop custom scripts and leverage the REST API to meet customer requirements is a plus, but not essential.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to travel occasionally to meet clients and understand their business context first-hand.

  • 3–5 years' experience in software consulting, enterprise architecture, or a related technical delivery role.

  • Proven client-facing experience, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Self-motivation, responsible work ethic, and comfortable in a position that grants autonomy.

  • Proven outstanding communication, presentation and writing skills.

  • Understanding of software development concepts.

  • Enterprise architecture domain knowledge.

  • Familiarity with, or strong interest in, AI-related technologies and their application to enterprise architecture.

  • Some knowledge of complementary technologies is preferred, including MS Excel and MS Visio.

  • 1 day of birthday leave per year

  • Private Medical Insurance which includes gym membership discounts and many other rewards

How to prepare for a job interview at Avolution

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Avolution uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
