PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Global Learning Manager designs and delivers solutions that build capability, confidence, and operational excellence for Avolta’s frontline teams and managers across Retail and F&B. The role leads the development of global digital and face-to-face enablement programs, tools, and resources that help teams perform effectively and elevate the customer experience. It oversees and also contributes to eLearning modules design, multimedia tools, and ensuring content quality and consistency with Avolta’s learning standards. Working closely with Operations, regional L&D leads, and functional stakeholders, the role ensures initiatives are practical, scalable, and continuously improved through data and feedback. The position provides functional ownership of the frontline learning platform (Axonify) and is based at our Bedfont Lakes offices in London, UK.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable enablement programs for frontline team members and managers (digital, blended, and face-to-face).
  • With a strong focus on enablement, build practical learning that strengthens service quality, commercial execution, operational standards, safety and compliance awareness, including short modules, videos, and visual materials that support global enablement programs and reinforce frontline capability.
  • Partner with Operations leaders and regional L&D to align content and roll‑outs with global business priorities and local market needs.
  • Contribute directly to content design and development when required, using tools such as Articulate or Elucidat, Adobe suite, Canva etc.
  • Provide functional oversight of the frontline LMS (Axonify) to ensure consistency and engagement; coordinate with vendor for roadmap and improvements.
  • Manage global projects end-to-end (scoping, pilots, deployment, evaluation), delivering to agreed timelines and measures of success.
  • Measure adoption and impact using participation, completion, engagement and performance indicators; iterate programs based on insights.
  • Explore and apply new tools and technologies (including AI‑assisted solutions) that enable just‑in‑time learning and on-the-job performance support.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, HR, Communications, IT and other partners to integrate enablement into change initiatives and ways of working.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years of experience in frontline Learning & Development, ideally within retail, F&B, hospitality, or similar fast paced global organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Human Resources or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience overseeing learning platforms (i.e. Axonify is a plus) and working knowledge of digital learning ecosystems.
  • Experience designing and developing eLearning content using authoring tools such as Articulate, Elucidat, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting frontline capability enablement, preferably with a background that bridges operations and training.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Ability to create and edit digital learning materials, including videos, visuals, and microlearning modules to support program delivery.
  • Comfortable using AI and generative tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to enhance learning design, research, and communication.
  • Demonstrated project management, strong organization and prioritization skills; able to run multiple initiatives across regions and functions.
  • High resilience and adaptability; thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and navigates ambiguity with structure.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills; credible with Operations leaders and regional teams.
  • Solid understanding of how adults learn and perform on the job, with creativity in combining digital assets and in-person practice.
  • Interest and experience in implementing and leveraging AI and emerging technologies to enhance frontline enablement.
