A growing Building Services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced M&E Estimator to join their commercial and pre-construction team in the Midlands. Working across a range of commercial, industrial, education, healthcare and mixed-use projects, you will play a key role in securing and pricing projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of work and genuine opportunities for progression.

The Role

As an M&E Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for mechanical and electrical building services projects. Duties will include:

  • Reviewing tender documentation, specifications and drawings
  • Producing detailed cost estimates for mechanical and electrical packages
  • Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Conducting site visits and surveys where required
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams throughout the tender process
  • Supporting handovers to the delivery team following successful project awards
  • Maintaining strong relationships with key supply chain partners

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an M&E Estimator, Mechanical Estimator, Electrical Estimator or Building Services Estimator
  • Strong understanding of building services installations and construction processes
  • Experience pricing commercial construction projects
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documents
  • Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Experience using estimating software would be advantageous
