My client is an established and fast-growing property services provider, delivering safety-critical services in the social housing sector. Seeking a skilled and driven Operations Manager – Active Fire to take ownership of our fire alarms and life safety systems division.
The Role:
You\’ll be leading the delivery of fire detection and alarm system installations, servicing, and remedial works across our social housing contracts. With a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency, you\’ll manage engineers, coordinate with clients, and ensure high-quality outcomes across the board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of active fire safety services, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, AOVs, and related systems.
- Lead, support, and develop a team of engineers and supervisors.
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with relevant standards (BS 5839, BS 5266) and meet regulatory and client requirements.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources for planned and reactive fire safety works.
- Build strong relationships with housing clients and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor KPIs, compliance reporting, and health & safety performance across all contracts.
What You\’ll Bring:
- Proven experience managing active fire safety operations, ideally within social housing or public sector environments.
- In-depth technical knowledge of fire alarms and life safety systems.
- Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., FIA modules, Fire Alarm Design/Commissioning certs, or equivalent).
