We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing specialist M&E contractor operating across London and the South East.

The business specialises in HVAC, ventilation, ductwork and smoke ventilation systems, delivering projects across the commercial, residential, healthcare, aviation and data centre sectors.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking for a commercially astute QS with experience within mechanical services, HVAC or ductwork to take ownership of the commercial management of projects.

The Role

  • Working closely with the Operations and Project teams, your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing project cost plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Managing project costs, cash flow and commercial performance
  • Valuations and applications for payment
  • Managing variations and change control
  • Subcontractor procurement and management
  • Reviewing and negotiating subcontract packages
  • Carrying out site visits to assess progress and validate quantities
  • Contract administration and commercial reporting
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks
  • Supporting project teams with cost control and value engineering
  • Managing projects through to final account
  • Liaising directly with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors who have experience within:

  • HVAC / Mechanical Services
  • Ductwork & Ventilation
  • Smoke ventilation / smoke extract
  • M&E subcontracting
  • Specialist mechanical contracting

You should have strong commercial experience covering variations, valuations, procurement, cost reporting and subcontractor management, with the confidence to commercially manage your own projects.

A Quantity Surveying or Construction-related qualification would be beneficial, although strong relevant industry experience will also be considered.
