Avolon are seeking an experienced Programme Manager with strong M&E and planning capability to take ownership of programme development and delivery across multiple electrical and building services projects. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role. You will work closely with engineers and project teams to understand how the job will be built, translate that into a robust ASTA Powerproject programme, and use the programme as a live management tool to drive delivery. This is not a reporting or governance-only position. The programme is central to how projects are planned, sequenced, challenged, and delivered.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and own fully logic-linked ASTA Powerproject programmes from first principles
  • Work directly with engineers, project managers, and site teams to understand construction methodology and sequencing
  • Translate M&E installation and commissioning strategies into realistic, deliverable programmes
  • Manage programme logic, dependencies, critical path, and float
  • Update, maintain, and interrogate live programmes throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify risks, clashes, and sequencing issues early and work with delivery teams to resolve them
  • Support change management, re-sequencing, and recovery planning where required
  • Lead and manage a small planning/programme team as the function grows
  • Provide clear, practical programme insight to senior management

What we’re looking for

  • Strong hands-on experience using ASTA Powerproject (essential)
  • Solid M&E/building services construction knowledge
  • Background with an M&E contractor or main contractor delivering live projects
  • Strong understanding of installation sequencing, commissioning, and interfaces
  • Confident working directly with engineers and challenging assumptions where needed
  • Experience managing or mentoring planners/programme staff
  • Pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset β€” programmes must reflect reality, not theory

What this role is not

  • Not a purely client-side or reporting-led programme role
  • Not a generic project manager position
  • Not suitable for candidates without hands-on ASTA experience or construction sequencing knowledge

Why join us?

  • The programme function is taken seriously and drives delivery
  • You’ll have direct influence on how projects are planned and executed
  • Opportunity to shape and lead the programme function as the business grows
  • Work closely with experienced engineering and leadership teams
