Our client is a leader in electrical and mechanical services and are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join them on a permanent basis. This role is vital in maintaining the highest standards of safety across nationwide projects, including work in sectors like retail, healthcare, and hospitality.
Successful candidates will possess relevant construction industry experience, and ideally have mechanical & electrical experience also.
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and update health and safety policies and protocols across all projects.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Oversee the safety of company equipment, including tools, vans, and hired machinery, ensuring all are properly maintained and inspected.
- Review and assess subcontractors’ Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for compliance with company and legal safety standards.
- Regularly visit nationwide sites to ensure best practices are being followed and to address any safety concerns on-site.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on safety procedures and policies, fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Investigate and report on any accidents or near misses, recommending improvements where necessary.
- Manage health and safety audits, ensuring the company adheres to the latest legislative requirements.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent is essential.
- Strong understanding of UK health and safety regulations, particularly within the electrical or construction sectors.
