Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm

We’re working with a well-established contractor in the utilities sector who are looking to bring in an Assistant / Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with around 2+ years’ QS or commercial experience who wants exposure across the full project lifecycle, working within a supportive, close-knit and fast-paced team. The office environment is energetic and collaborative, so this would suit someone who enjoys being around people and being part of a team.

The Role

  • Estimating and pricing works
  • Managing applications and valuations
  • Cost tracking and reporting across projects
  • Procurement and raising orders
  • Invoicing and financial admin
  • Supporting contract administration (NEC-style environments)
  • Working closely with operational teams and clients

You’ll get exposure to the full commercial function, making this a great step for someone looking to grow into a fully-fledged QS.

What They’re Looking For

  • Around 2+ years’ experience in a QS / Assistant QS / commercial role
  • Strong Excel skills (this is heavily spreadsheet-driven)
  • Exposure to estimating and cost tracking
  • Background in utilities, civils, or infrastructure would be ideal
  • Any experience with IFS or CEMAR would be a bonus
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • A confident communicator and team player
