We’re working with a well-established contractor in the utilities sector who are looking to bring in an Assistant / Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with around 2+ years’ QS or commercial experience who wants exposure across the full project lifecycle, working within a supportive, close-knit and fast-paced team. The office environment is energetic and collaborative, so this would suit someone who enjoys being around people and being part of a team.
The Role
- Estimating and pricing works
- Managing applications and valuations
- Cost tracking and reporting across projects
- Procurement and raising orders
- Invoicing and financial admin
- Supporting contract administration (NEC-style environments)
- Working closely with operational teams and clients
You’ll get exposure to the full commercial function, making this a great step for someone looking to grow into a fully-fledged QS.
What They’re Looking For
- Around 2+ years’ experience in a QS / Assistant QS / commercial role
- Strong Excel skills (this is heavily spreadsheet-driven)
- Exposure to estimating and cost tracking
- Background in utilities, civils, or infrastructure would be ideal
- Any experience with IFS or CEMAR would be a bonus
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- A confident communicator and team player
