A leading Building Services Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their growing pre‑construction team. This is a senior role within an established M&E business, offering long‑term stability, strong career progression, and the chance to influence and improve estimating processes across multiple projects.
The Role
- Preparing, analysing and submitting mechanical tenders across a diverse range of building services projects.
- Carrying out detailed take‑offs, cost build‑ups, and analytical estimating.
- Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
- Managing supplier and subcontractor enquiries to obtain competitive and compliant quotations.
- Identifying risks, opportunities, and value‑engineering options during pre‑construction.
- Liaising with internal teams, senior leadership, clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Presenting commercial and technical aspects of tenders for director‑level approval.
- Supporting handover processes to delivery teams with clarity and accurate documentation.
- Contributing to the development of estimating systems, cost libraries and process improvements.
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members where required.
About You
- Extensive experience in mechanical estimating within building services/M&E contracting.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and installation methods.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings and specifications confidently.
- Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of tendering processes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- A proactive, organised and detail‑driven approach to managing multiple bids.
