Building Services Manager (M&E) Location: Isle of Wight Project: HMP Isle of Wight Company: SES Engineering Services Sector: Government / Justice Position: Building Services Manager We are working with SES Engineering Services, one of the UK’s leading M&E contractors, to recruit an experienced Building Services Manager to support the delivery of M&E works at HMP Isle of Wight. This is a hands-on project role covering the full M&E lifecycle, from design coordination and procurement through construction, quality, commissioning and handover. The Role Working closely with the wider project and construction teams, you will take responsibility for the coordination and successful delivery of the mechanical and electrical services package. Your responsibilities will include: * Providing technical advice and support across M&E/building services * Reviewing M&E designs to ensure they are coordinated, buildable and commercially viable * Supporting the procurement and appointment of M&E subcontractors and consultants * Reviewing technical submissions, subcontractor proposals and design information * Managing and coordinating mechanical and electrical subcontractors during construction * Developing and monitoring M&E programmes and reporting against progress * Monitoring labour levels, programme performance and key project deliverables * Leading M&E pre-commencement meetings and coordinating technical requirements * Working closely with design teams, the client, facilities management and other project stakeholders * Managing QA inspections, audits and installation quality * Ensuring works comply with project specifications, health & safety requirements and agreed standards * Supporting testing and commissioning activities * Coordinating O&M information, asset registers and handover documentation * Driving defects through to completion and supporting successful project handover About You We are looking for an experienced Building Services Manager, M&E Manager or MEP Manager with a strong background in delivering mechanical and electrical packages on major construction projects. You will ideally have: * Strong knowledge of both mechanical and electrical building services * Previous experience managing M&E packages through construction * Experience working for a main contractor or established M&E contractor * Good understanding of design coordination, technical submissions and M&E procurement * Experience managing subcontractors, programme, quality and commissioning * Strong understanding of construction health & safety requirements * The ability to work collaboratively with project, design, commercial and client teams * Strong communication and problem-solving skills * Experience on government, justice, defence or other secure/complex projects would be advantageous This would suit an experienced Building Services Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of M&E delivery and working across both the technical and construction sides of a project
