Location: West London / Hayes (Office-based) + site visits as required (all London based sites)

A leading Building Services Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team. This is a senior role within an established M&E business, offering long‑term stability, strong career progression, and the chance to influence and improve estimating processes across multiple projects.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key part in securing new business and ensuring tenders are prepared accurately, competitively, and in line with company standards. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing, analysing and submitting mechanical tenders across a diverse range of building services projects.
• Carrying out detailed take‑offs, cost build‑ups, and analytical estimating.
• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
• Managing supplier and subcontractor enquiries to obtain competitive and compliant quotations.
• Identifying risks, opportunities, and value‑engineering options during pre‑construction.
• Liaising with internal teams, senior leadership, clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
• Presenting commercial and technical aspects of tenders for director-level approval.
• Supporting handover processes to delivery teams with clarity and accurate documentation.
• Contributing to the development of estimating systems, cost libraries and process improvements.
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members where required.

About You

• Extensive experience in mechanical estimating within building services/M&E contracting.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings and specifications confidently.
• Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of tendering processes.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• A proactive, organised and detail‑driven approach to managing multiple bids.
