We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team and take a leadership role in developing a new team and function within our growing, ambitious office. Responsibilities
- Leading the estimating function and integrating best practices to develop accurate and competitive cost projections for housing developments.
- Managing and mentoring a new team, fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and clients, to create robust cost estimates for award-winning housing projects.
- Evaluating tender documents, architectural plans, and project specifications to identify opportunities for value engineering.
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and pricing schedules for a mixed portfolio of development projects, ensuring client expectations are met.
- Assisting in the creation of strategies for new business acquisition and supporting bid proposals.
- Continuously reviewing and improving the estimating process, contributing to the overall success and growth of the team.
- Maintaining strong knowledge of market trends, industry standards, and emerging best practices within the housing sector.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in estimating within the housing sector, particularly in delivering high-quality developments for a mixed blend of clients.
- A track record of working on award-winning or high-standard housing development projects.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams, with the ability to inspire and motivate others effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using estimating tools, software, and industry-relevant tools (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, ConQuest, or similar software).
- A thorough understanding of industry standards, building codes, and procurement processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- A degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- Review project details and collaborate with design and project management teams to refine specifications and budgets.
