Salary: £14.00 per hour
Contract: Full-Time

About the Role

Avocet Trust is seeking to recruit Full-Time Senior Support Workers who are passionate about delivering high-quality care and making a positive, lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable people with a wide range of needs and personal requirements.

This is a hands-on, frontline role, supporting both service users and staff teams. The position is not office-based; however, dedicated time will be built into the working week to allow for the completion of documentation, planning and administrative responsibilities.

You will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and service users, demonstrating initiative, leadership and a commitment to person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering and maintaining high-quality, person-centred care and support to service users
• Supporting, developing and supervising staff, including working independently and unsupervised where required
• Completing audits, supervisions and contributing to staff development
• Preparing and managing staff rotas to ensure safe and effective service delivery
• Attending and chairing meetings as required
• Liaising with health professionals and external agencies
• Reviewing and updating support plans and risk assessments
• Supporting the management team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service
• Working in partnership with the Registered Manager, including acting-up to cover managerial leave
• Participating in the on-call rota as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or be working towards this qualification
• A minimum of 2 years\’ experience working with vulnerable people
• A strong understanding of the needs of vulnerable individuals, including personal care, medication administration and communication support
• Knowledge of current and relevant health and social care legislation
• Understanding of organisational management systems, procedures and policies
• Competent IT skills, including the ability to complete digital records and documentation accurately
