Freelance Quantity Surveyor – Immediate Start\\nLocation: Watford\\nContract: Freelance | Until end of February 2026 (potential for extension)\\nCompany: Leading PLC House Builder\\n\\nWe are currently partnering with a well-established PLC house builder who are urgently seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a live residential development in Watford.\\n\\nThe Role:\\nYou will be responsible for overseeing commercial and cost-management duties across the site, ensuring financial control, accurate reporting, and smooth delivery of the project. You’ll work closely with the site and commercial teams to manage subcontractor packages, valuations, variations, and overall commercial performance.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Managing cost control and budgeting throughout the project\\n\\n * \\n\\n Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations, and final accounts\\n\\n * \\n\\n Procurement and management of subcontractor packages\\n\\n * \\n\\n Providing accurate commercial reporting and forecasting\\n\\n * \\n\\n Ensuring compliance with company and industry standards\\n\\nRequirements:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential / housebuilding\\n\\n * \\n\\n Background with PLC developers highly advantageous\\n\\n * \\n\\n Strong commercial acumen and understanding of NEC/JCT contracts\\n\\n * \\n\\n Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running\\n\\n * \\n\\n Available to start immediately and commit until at least the end of January\\n\\nWhat’s on Offer:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Competitive freelance day rate\\n\\n * \\n\\n Immediate start on a major residential development\\n\\n * \\n\\n Potential for the role to extend beyond January\\n\\nIf you’re an experienced QS ready for your next freelance assignment, please apply with your updated CV or get in touch for a confidential conversation
