The Role
We\’re looking for a motivated and detail-driven Accounts Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in practice and gain hands-on experience working with a diverse portfolio of clients. Experience using Xero and QuickBooks is essential, as many of our clients rely on these platforms for their bookkeeping and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping and data entry for a portfolio of clients using Xero and QuickBooks
- Preparing VAT returns and submitting them via MTD
- Assisting in the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts
- Bank reconciliations and review of client records for accuracy
- Liaising directly with clients to request information and answer queries
- General support to accountants and senior staff as needed
- Payroll
Requirements
- Experience working in an accountancy practice (preferred)
- Solid working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks is essential
- Familiarity with VAT and basic tax principles
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Good communication skills and confidence in client-facing situations
- AAT qualified or studying (or equivalent experience)
