Site Manager – Abingdon, Oxon £70,000 – £75,000 + package | Permanent
Award Winning Quality Developer with impressive pipeline of work. Start Nov /Dec 2026 (or later if on notice period). We’re working with a well-established residential developer on a major new development in Abingdon, and they’re looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to kick off this new community development of high quality houses. The development will deliver a significant new community, including up to 350 new homes, alongside associated infrastructure, landscaping, open space and community facilities. This is a great opportunity for a Site Manager who enjoys being hands-on and wants to be involved in a sizeable residential development from the early stages through to completion.
The Role
- Reporting into the Construction Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring the development is delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
- You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing subcontractors and site labour on a day-to-day basis
- Planning and coordinating construction activities
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety across the site
- Ensuring work is completed to programme and specification
- Managing quality and ensuring defects are kept to a minimum
- Coordinating trades and subcontractors
- Working closely with the commercial and technical teams
- Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress
- Ensuring the site is kept organised, safe and well presented
- Supporting the successful handover of completed properties
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Site Manager with a background in residential housebuilding and a good understanding of traditional construction methods. You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience managing residential housing developments
- A strong understanding of construction programmes and sequencing
- Experience managing subcontractors and trades
- Excellent health & safety awareness
- Good quality control and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- SMSTS
- CSCS
- First Aid
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in what they deliver, can manage a busy site effectively and works well as part of a wider team.
