CPC are looking for an Inventory Specialist / Buyer to take ownership of a large and diverse portfolio of product ranges. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about ensuring stock availability, optimising inventory, and driving excellent customer service levels.
About the Role
As an Inventory Specialist / Buyer, you’ll play a key role in maximising customer satisfaction through effective use of inventory management tools and techniques. You’ll be responsible for managing stock levels, minimising slow and obsolete inventory, and optimising stock turns to meet business goals.

Office located in Preston – The role is remote/hybrid and office based with a minimum of 3 days working in the office.

What will you be doing?
- Manage a large portfolio of product lines, ensuring optimum stock availability
- Work closely with suppliers to expedite deliveries and resolve back orders
- Liaise with internal teams to schedule product deliveries for promotions and key deadlines
- Minimise excess and obsolete stock, arranging returns where appropriate
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy and resolve supplier, Goods-In, and Accounts queries
- Proactively resolve product shortages through expediting, escalation, and resourcing
- Negotiate cost savings and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, Product Managers, and other departments
- Achieve key performance targets, including line fill and stock turn
