Job Summary: Working in the Group Financial accountant team, the team is responsible for delivery of the external financial reporting for the Farnell EMEA entities, focusing on VAT and TAX reporting. This role offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the wider finance team. What will you be doing?
- Prepare and timely submit domestic/foreign VAT returns or Tax reports for multiple jurisdictions in accordance with local regulations.
- Follow-up on VAT refunds and initiate VAT payments.
- Reconcile the VAT GL-account to the VAT returns and review VAT reconciliation to VAT revenue figures.
- Prepare and/or review responses to tax authority inquiries in collaboration with the VAT analyst and VAT manager.
- Assist in providing VAT advice to internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations on transactions and contracts.
- Keep track of new or changed VAT laws and regulations and analyze the impact of these changes.
- Act as a liaison between tax department and service providers or external advisors.
- Work closely with finance, accounting, and operations teams to ensure accurate VAT reporting and compliance.
- Ensure the preparation/filing of all other regulatory information as required, including corporate tax returns.
- Review entity VAT returns.
- May assist in the setup of processes and procedures.
- Provides guidance and support for both internal and external audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
