What you will be doing:
- Define, create and install, maintain and upgrade department and or enterprise databases within a variety of computing environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain databases, including job control language, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, reorganization, protection, and statistical methods and size estimates of databases.
- Analyses, tests, and implements physical and logical database design supporting various business applications.
- Ensures that data recovery, maintenance, data integrity, and space requirements for physical database are met and plans and procedures are developed and followed.
- Reviews SQL coding for reusability, performance and stability within application design and support phase of projects.
- Administers databases across multiple platforms and computing environments at the business unit/group level.
- Maintains database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and backup procedures.
- Analyses and resolves issues related to information flow and content.
- Performs database monitoring and tuning, completes performance and tuning reviews.
