The LV/HV Load Bank Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining load bank systems for LV and HV applications in the UK and Europe. This role ensures the optimal operation and reliability of power sources by performing load tests and resolving technical issues. The engineer will work collaboratively within the Service and Projects divisions, providing technical support and developing solutions tailored to client needs. Adherence to strict safety protocols and standards is critical when working with high-voltage equipment and in high-risk environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Implementation: Contribute to the design process, with a primary emphasis on the successful installation, commissioning, and maintenance of load bank systems in critical settings.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough load testing and troubleshooting to guarantee reliable and safe operation, addressing issues to enhance power source longevity.
  • Collaboration and Technical Support: Partner with engineers, technicians, and clients to provide high-quality technical assistance and innovative solutions to load bank challenges within Service and Projects divisions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Develop and strictly follow safety protocols and industry standards for working with high-voltage equipment, prioritising a culture of safety and risk management.

In-depth knowledge of electrical theory and high-voltage principles, particularly in power generation. Experience in load bank design, operation, testing methods, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of logistics and asset transportation for LV load bank assets and HV packaged substations. Strong customer focus with a commitment to prioritising client satisfaction. Self-motivation and proactive approach to tasks. Effective communication skills for interactions with all levels of stakeholders. Strategic thinker with a contribution to long-term planning and decision-making. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and guide teams. Coaching and mentoring abilities to support team development. Skilled in deadline management and thriving in fast-paced environments. Valid full driving licence, and the ability to regularly travel across the UK and Europe as required.
