An Associate Commissioning Engineer at AVK will work alongside our commissioning engineers involved in the commissioning phases of large M&E & Data Centre projects. This position is an entry-level role and the commencement of a rewarding career within the power generation industry. You will support the commissioning engineers in the cleaning, painting, installation, maintenance, and installation of the generator systems and their auxiliary components, including assisting with equipment setup, preparing work areas, handling tools, and materials. During this time, you will be trained by a commissioning engineer, and your progression will be nurtured and tracked. This role is working on a client site, 5 days per week (Monday to Friday).
Main Responsibilities
- Assisting Technicians and Engineers: Supporting skilled workers during the testing and verification of equipment, ensuring systems are operating correctly.
- Carrying Tools and Equipment: Transporting and setting up tools, machines, and other materials needed for testing or inspections.
- Basic Installation Work: Assisting with minor installation tasks such as fixing parts or connecting equipment under supervision.
- Cleaning and Preparing Workspaces: Keeping work areas organized and prepared for tests or inspections.
- Safety Checks: Assisting in performing safety checks and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
- Data Collection: Assisting in recording readings or observations for reporting.
Requirements
- Experience in the power generation industry or hold basic electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications.
- Excellent communication and technical knowledge.
- Hold a full valid driving licence.
- Ability to work on your own initiative.
