At AVK we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Business Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining AVK's end to end data infrastructure, owning the full data lifecycle from source extraction through transformation to semantic modelling, enabling reliable, high quality data to power reporting, analytics, and decision making across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain robust ETL and ELT pipelines.
- Develop logical and physical data models.
- Build and optimise semantic models and datasets designed for Power BI and downstream analytics and reporting.
- Integrate and structure data from core enterprise platforms including CRM, Finance, and Project Management systems.
- Act as the bridge between business and data.
- Work with stakeholders across Business Operations and wider teams to understand requirements, translate business problems into technical solutions, and communicate data concepts clearly to varying levels of data literacy.
- Develop efficient, scalable SQL and Python solutions.
- Optimise pipelines and data models for performance, reliability, and long term scalability.
- Implement validation, monitoring, and error handling frameworks to ensure high data quality, reliability, and organisational trust in data outputs.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years experience in data engineering.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, modelling, and pipeline orchestration.
- Proven experience delivering across the full data lifecycle from raw data extraction through transformation to semantic modelling for business intelligence.
- Strong understanding of how data should be structured and modelled to support performant dashboards, reporting, and analytics.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts and translate business needs into effective data solutions.
- Comfortable operating in a fast moving, cross functional environment with evolving data maturity.
