Description
The Quantity Surveyor will support our Project Team in the commercial aspects of out business.
The successful candidate will be from a Mechanical and Electrical M&E contracting background.
Able to work at all levels from client through to our subcontractor supply chain ensuring risk reduction on terms and conditions, cash flows on projects and final account payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve contract terms and manage commercial correspondence work with legal counsel where required.
- Attend site meetings for contractual discussions and advise on the project issues.
- Valuing variations and monitoring project performance.
- Interpret project documentation to identify opportunities and risks.
- Prepare monthly reports including JCR's (Job Costing Reports) and place orders in timely manner for procurement.
- Demonstrate expertise in dispute resolution and risk management.
- Assist in improving supply chain on conducting commercial audits.
- Produce cash flows and ensure correct notices are issued as per contracts in place.
- Collaborate with Project Managers/Engineers and place supplier/subcontractor orders.
- Prepare and submit client applications and reconcile reports.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in managing mechanical engineering projects, preferably in the energy or power industry.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Professional project management certification (e. g., PMP) is preferred.
